Job summary

Unitywater is seeking a Construction Inspector to be the eyes and ears on-site, safeguarding safe, compliant delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure across the Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay regions. You will work with subcontractors to oversee live works and protect critical networks.

In a dynamic field-based role, you will monitor construction activities, review standards, and contribute to risk management and quality outcomes while upholding a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in water and wastewater infrastructure construction, including live networks.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, testing requirements, and QA processes.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection plans.
• Sound understanding of industry codes, standards, and safety requirements.
• Excellent communication skills with stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and proactive risk management.
• Current White Card and C Class Driver Licence.

• Ensure works are delivered in accordance with approved standards, specs and safety requirements.

About the role:As our Construction Inspector, you will be the eyes and ears of Unitywater on-site, ensuring the safe, compliant, and high-quality delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay regions. You will work closely with subcontractors and stakeholders, providing oversight across multiple active construction sites and playing a critical role in protecting the integrity of our live water and wastewater networks.

Working in a dynamic field-based environment, you will oversee construction activities, monitor live water and sewer networks, and ensure works are delivered in accordance with approved standards, specifications and safety requirements. You will proactively identify and manage risks, support the resolution of construction issues and defects, and provide valuable insights into contractor performance, project progress and construction quality to help drive successful project outcomes.
