Job summary

Robert Bird Group (RBG), a leading structural, civil and specialist global consulting engineering firm, seeks a Structural Engineer for its Construction Engineering team in Brisbane. You will provide specialist staged analysis, construction methodology and temporary works design for major projects across Brisbane and Queensland.

Your duties include detailed temporary works design, client liaison with Project Directors, and active project involvement to ensure quality, timeliness and delivery

Qualifications

• Relevant Engineering qualification with a focus on structural engineering.
• 3+ years' structural engineering industry experience.
• Experience in temporary works design preferred.
• Strong understanding of Australian codes and standards.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience delivering detailed engineering drawings to required standards.
• Solid grounding in steel and concrete design.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to use structural software.
• Project management and hands-on administrative, commercial and technical experience.
• Ability to prepare technical reports with minimal corrections.
• Able to work on own initiative and in a team environment.

The Role

Due to recent project wins, we are currently seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Construction Engineering team in Brisbane. The successful candidate will provide specialist staged analysis, construction methodology and temporary works design services to some of the biggest contractors constructing Brisbane and wider Queensland's most significant building and major transport infrastructure projects.

Your duties will include, but will not be limited to, the following:

• Detailed structural design of temporary works and associated impacts on permanent works
• Client liaison, in conjunction with Project Directors and Associates, regarding current and future projects
• Active involvement in all your projects, including project resource management, in conjunction with the Project Directors
• Successfully deliver current and future projects, while supporting RBG's reputation for innovation, technical excellence, quality, and project delivery
• Proactively collaborating with team members, contributors, and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness, and coordination of project deliverables

About You

• Relevant Engineering qualifications - with a focus on structural engineering
• 3+ years' structural engineering industry experience
• Experience in the delivery of temporary works design is preferred but not required
• Strong understanding of Australian codes and standards
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience in the delivery of detailed engineering drawings corresponding with level of duties
• Solid grounding in steel and concrete design
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Demonstrated design experience using relevant structural software
• Possesses project management and hands-on experience, encompassing administrative, commercial and technical aspects
• Ability to prepare technical reports to a standard requiring minimal correction, and to provide final reviews of reports
• Able to work on own initiative and in a team environment
