Job summary

Colin Biggers & Paisley is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join its established construction practice. You will provide clients with legal advice, review case law, and conduct timely, commercially focused research.

The role involves managing a heavy workload, understanding client operations, and mentoring junior staff. The successful candidate will have 3+ years' PQE, experience in both front- and back-end work, and a strong client-relations mindset, with a goal of long-term growth

Qualifications

• 3+ years PQE in construction practice or related fields.
• Experience across front- and back-end work with client focus.
• Strong ability to review case law and research legislations.

Responsibilities

• Provide clients with legal advice and case analysis.
• Review case law and legislative changes regularly.
• Conduct legal research to deliver timely, commercial advice.
• Manage workload and prioritise services effectively.
• Develop understanding of client operations and strategy.
• Manage prospective client relationships and BD activities.
• Mentor and develop junior staff; support MCLE requirements.
• Contribute to ongoing professional development within the team.

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity for an Associate or Senior Associate to work in an established construction practice.

• Providing clients with legal advice
• Regularly reviewing applicable case law and legislative changes
• Conducting effective legal research and analysis to produce timely, commercial and legally accurate advice
• Managing a robust workload, including prioritising work and delivering services effectively
• Developing an understanding of client operations and strategy
• Managing prospective client relationships
• Mentoring and developing junior staff
• Continual professional development and managing MCLE requirements

About you:

• 3+ years' PQE and can hit the ground running
• Will have experience in both front and back-end work, with a desire to lean into front-end work
• Self-motivated and confident
• An aspiration to be an integral member of a strong and cohesive team who work together
• Ability to manage large volumes of documents
• Strong attention to detail
• Practical and client focused problem solving and research skills
• Previous exposure to Business Development and a natural ability to build strong client relationships
• Ability to manage client expectations and run matters autonomously
