Job summary

Job description

Job Description: We are seeking an innovative, commercially driven global Conference Marketing Manager to lead, formulate and execute marketing strategies and campaigns for Gartner conferences that educate, build awareness, drive engagement and result in client paid registrations for Gartner conferences. This role combines strategic marketing ownership with hands‑on execution across the full conference marketing lifecycle. The successful candidate will develop compelling messaging and execute integrated marketing and digital campaigns that generate paid self‑service registrations and qualified sales leads. The ability to understand IT and business roles, learn what motivates a target audience, and utilize this knowledge to develop engaging, value‑based messaging and multi‑channel marketing approaches is required. This individual will work closely with the conference program management, conference marketing portfolio lead, sales enablement teams and client‑facing sales and service delivery associates to achieve or exceed conference registrations for assigned volume and revenue goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop deep product and conference expertise: Work with the global marketing portfolio lead and the conference program management to develop a deep understanding of product offerings and conference agendas to successfully develop, position, package and communicate the value proposition of Gartner and its conferences to potential attendees.
  • Drive audience segmentation and go‑to‑market planning: Understand Gartner clients, products, ticket types and conference offerings to develop messaging, value propositions and go‑to‑market plans aligned to client roles, key initiatives, interests and buyer journeys.
  • Leverage market and attendee insights: Drive and consume client and conference attendee survey data and competitive analysis to craft messaging and inform market opportunity assessments and campaign strategies
  • Create compelling messaging and positioning: Develop value‑based messaging, positioning and story lines for conference promotion through collateral, video, web, social, SEO/SEM and other channels
  • Define and execute integrated campaigns: Develop and execute inbound and outbound multi‑channel campaign strategies to drive audience acquisition in line with brand strategy goals that cover that full buyer journey – from awareness to registration, leveraging re‑targeting efforts to maximize overall engagement
  • Lead digital and social marketing: Drive audience engagement and conference attendance through website, SEO, email, SEM, display and social media campaigns, to drive audience engagement and conference attendance.
  • Collaborate across stakeholders and COEs: Effectively manage projects involving internal & external stakeholders/partners across conference marketing and related COEs inclusive of concept design, campaign development, and campaign execution, on time and with exceptional quality.
  • Optimize channel mix: Use the Digital Marketing Center of Excellence and analytics tools to identify the best channel mix and drive optimal ROI on campaign spend.
  • Monitor and optimize campaigns: Execute all campaign elements, continually review performance metrics, identify innovative ways to drive demand, and revise campaigns accordingly.
  • Report and collaborate: Actively monitor demand conversion and registrations, identify challenges and solutions, and report results to stakeholders.
  • Forecast and report commercial performance: Continually assess commercial performance, forecast confidently and strive to drive higher results whenever possible report outcomes to stakeholders and identify opportunities to drive stronger business results.
  • Empower sales teams: Improve sales teams’ ability to authentically engage with segments through easy‑to‑absorb prospect conversation scripting and conference materials, maintaining a central repository for sales support tools.
  • Influence cross-functional teams: Interact with various functional groups, develop and present marketing plans, and influence thinking and approach to conference messaging and promotion.
What you’ll need
  • Metrics‑driven mindset: Minimum of 7+ years’ experience in outbound / digital marketing, with direct responsibility for delivering revenue through marketing and sales channels.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Exceptional project management skills.
  • Expertise in marketing campaign creation, lead management, and pipeline conversion.
  • Data‑driven and analytical: Experience with Google Analytics is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills.
  • Email marketing experience: Familiarity with marketing automation tools such as Eloqua or similar platforms.
  • Understanding of design principles.
  • SEO/SEM expertise.
  • Web content creation and management skills: Experience with Adobe Experience Manager a plus
  • Balanced analytical and creative skills: Able to understand data and analysis and use it to calibrate campaigns and create better content and copy.
  • Willingness to travel within Australia, and internationally, if required.
