Alive Pharmacy Warehouse is seeking a Compounding Technician for our Westcourt lab. The role operates Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm, with duties spanning non-sterile compound preparation, inventory management, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

You will work with supervision from the Pharmacist Manager, ensuring precise compound formulations and clear communication with patients and healthcare professionals. Prior pharmacy experience is valued and training is provided.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role or in a pharmacy setting is highly desirable.
• Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided and further formal training may be offered for the right applicant.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy is essential.
• Good organisational and time-management skills are important.
• Ability to work autonomously while reporting to a Pharmacist Manager when required.

Responsibilities

This is an excellent opportunity for a current Pharmacy Assistant or Dispensary Technician seeking a new challenge and a new avenue for career progression.

About the role

As a Compounding Technician, you will be expected to work autonomously to ensure the smooth operation of the Lab and to meet all business requirements.

This is a full-time role (Monday to Friday) with the Compounding Lab operating between 8am and 4pm.

Core responsibilities include:

• Properly utilise lab equipment to make non-sterile compounds whilst following all safety and USP guidelines, including the use of appropriate PPE.


• Maintain inventory and supplies, as well as coordinate orders from wholesalers.


• Accurately calculate compound formulations.


• Source information for compounded products or ingredients from certified compounding bodies (i.e. PCCA) as necessary.


• Communicate professionally and efficiently with all stakeholders (including patients, doctors, pharmacy staff, etc.) to ensure clear and safe provision of services.


• Prepare compounds with minimal supervision and ensure realistic timeframes are communicated and adhered to.


• Ensure a high level of cleanliness and record-keeping is maintained at all times.


• Follow all standards set by both State and Federal laws, regulations and governing bodies.


• Assist in the store with dispensary and front-of-shop duties when necessary.
