Job summary

Natural Beauty Care (NBC) is seeking an experienced Compounder to join our Production team in Melbourne. You will accurately compound bulk cosmetic products, ensuring batches meet quality, safety and regulatory standards in a GMP environment.

With 2+ years in GMP/HACCP manufacturing, you will support efficient production, maintain documentation and work collaboratively with quality and production teams to achieve targets. A forklift licence and strong attention to detail are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in compounding within a GMP or HACCP-controlled environment.
• Experience in cosmetic, pharmaceutical, food, or FMCG industries.
• Dispensing experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Current Forklift Licence (beneficial).
• Strong literacy and numeracy; good GMP knowledge and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture bulk batches in accordance with approved formulations and instructions.
• Assemble and compound batches to meet daily production schedules.
• Submit batch samples to Quality Control for approval.
• Transfer approved bulk batches to storage for filling and production.
• Complete production, quality, and cleaning documentation accurately and on time.
• Clean, sanitise, and maintain equipment and vessels.
• Report non-conformances, quality issues, and production concerns promptly.
• Identify hazards and comply with health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Support continuous improvement to enhance safety, quality and efficiency.

Our customers span grocery, private label, mass market, prestige, premium direct selling and export channels, with NBC-manufactured products available across all major Australian retail and professional outlets, including grocery, pharmacy, salons, spas and skin clinics.

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Compounder to join our Production team and play a key role in the manufacture of high-quality cosmetic products. Working within a GMP-regulated environment, you will be responsible for accurately compounding bulk batches to specification, maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety, and supporting the efficient delivery of production schedules.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in producing quality products, follows procedures meticulously, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

About the Role

Reporting to the Dispensing & Compounding Integration Manager, you will be responsible for the accurate manufacture of bulk products, ensuring all batches meet quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacture bulk batches in accordance with approved formulations and manufacturing instructions.

Accurately assemble and compound batches to meet daily production schedules.

Submit completed batch samples to Quality Control for approval.

Transfer approved bulk batches to storage tanks for filling and production.

Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Cosmetic Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).

Complete production, quality, and cleaning documentation accurately and on time.

Clean, sanitise, and maintain mixing vessels, storage tanks, and production equipment.

Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and workplace organisation.

Dispose of waste and packaging materials in accordance with company procedures.

Report product non-conformances, quality issues, and production concerns promptly.

Identify, report, and elevate workplace hazards, incidents, injuries, and near misses, and comply with all workplace health, safety, and environmental requirements.

Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

Collaborate with quality, production support, and other operational teams to achieve production targets.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

Minimum 2 years' experience in compounding within a GMP or HACCP-controlled manufacturing environment.

Experience within the cosmetic, pharmaceutical, food, or FMCG industries.

Dispensing experience within a manufacturing environment.

Current Forklift Licence (beneficial).

Sound literacy and numeracy skills.

Strong understanding of GMP, quality systems, and workplace safety requirements.

Ability to work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail and product quality.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

A proactive, team-focused attitude and willingness to support colleagues.

Ability to build positive working relationships across departments.

Experience working with semi-automated batching systems (beneficial).
