Job summary

Pepper Money is seeking an experienced Compliance Manager for a 24-month fixed-term contract based in North Sydney. You will partner with business units to ensure privacy, consumer credit and financial services regulatory obligations are met.

Responsibilities include advising on compliance matters, reviewing marketing and customer communications, assessing incidents, and reporting to senior stakeholders. 5 years’ experience in financial services compliance is preferred.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Compliance Manager to join Pepper Money on a 24-month fixed term contract, based in our North Sydney office. This role will see you act as a trusted compliance partner across the business, providing practical and commercially balanced advice across privacy, consumer credit and financial services regulatory obligations.

You’ll support the business with day-to-day compliance queries, project advice, incident assessment, marketing and customer communications reviews, and reporting to senior stakeholders.

• Provide practical compliance advice: Partner with business units to provide clear, commercially balanced advice that considers regulatory obligations, customer outcomes and business objectives.
• Support business projects: Act as a compliance SME on key initiatives, helping teams understand requirements and manage compliance risks from the outset.
• Review marketing and customer communications: Review promotional material, marketing content and customer communications to ensure they meet relevant compliance obligations.
• Manage compliance incidents: Assess incidents against regulatory requirements, including consumer credit and privacy obligations, and support appropriate remediation.
• Contribute to reporting: Prepare and contribute to compliance reporting for senior management and other key stakeholders.

About you

You’ll bring strong financial services compliance experience, sound judgement and the ability to provide practical advice in a fast-moving business environment. You’re confident working with stakeholders at different levels and can balance regulatory requirements with commercial realities.

• Bring strong regulatory knowledge: You have a solid understanding of financial services regulation, including consumer credit, privacy and relevant industry standards.
• Provide clear and commercial advice: You can translate complex compliance requirements into practical guidance that helps the business make informed decisions.
• Engage stakeholders with confidence: You build trusted relationships across the business and can influence outcomes through clear communication and sound judgement.
• Maintain strong attention to detail: You consistently deliver high-quality work, with the ability to assess issues carefully and identify key compliance risks.
• Contribute to effective reporting: You’re comfortable preparing internal and external reporting and can present information clearly for different audiences.
• Bring proven experience: You have around 5 years’ experience providing compliance advice within financial services, including reviewing marketing and customer communications and managing compliance incidents.
