Job summary

The AFL is seeking a Competition Coordinator to help bring community football to life across Central West and Northern New South Wales. This is a maximum term role (12 months) covering parental leave, with potential bases in Sydney, Coffs Harbour or Central West.

You will coordinate administration, fixtures, scores and events to deliver well-run competitions and great experiences for clubs and participants.

Responsibilities

  • Provide effective administrative support for leagues and competitions across the designated region.
  • Manage competitions and maintain accurate information within PlayHQ.
  • Coordinate fixtures and support their smooth implementation throughout the season.
  • Prepare and distribute league match-day paperwork.
  • Manage scores, results and league ladders through PlayHQ.
  • Keep league websites and social media channels accurate and engaging.
  • Coordinate league events, including presentation nights and season launches.
  • Provide regional support and specialist assistance to leagues through the hub environment.
  • Support club development and umpiring within AFL Central West competitions.
  • Contribute to projects that support growth and improvement of community football.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the regional team.

The opportunity As Competition Coordinator, you will help bring community football to life across Central West and Northern New South Wales by providing effective and efficient administration for leagues and competitions. Please note that this is a Maximum Term role covering a period of Parental Leave for 12 months. Working as part of a collaborative regional hub, you will support the delivery of well-run competitions and positive football experiences for clubs, participants and communities. The role may be based in Sydney, Coffs Harbour or Central West. What you'll own You will coordinate the administration and day-to-day delivery that keeps community football competitions running smoothly across the region. You'll add value through:
  • Providing effective administrative support for leagues and competitions across the designated region
  • Managing competitions and maintaining accurate information within PlayHQ
  • Coordinating fixtures and supporting their smooth implementation throughout the season
  • Preparing and distributing league match-day paperwork
  • Managing scores, results and league ladders through PlayHQ
  • Keeping league websites and social media channels accurate, current and engaging
  • Coordinating league events, including presentation nights, season launches and other functions
  • Providing regional support and specialist assistance to leagues through the collaborative hub environment
  • Supporting club development and umpiring within the AFL Central West competition
  • Contributing to projects that support the continued growth and improvement of community football
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to support the overall success of the regional team
