Job summary

MRA Search is seeking an experienced competition and antitrust lawyer to join the Sydney office at associate or senior associate level. The role offers exposure to large-scale mergers, investigations and enforcement matters for domestic and international clients across the Asia Pacific region.

The successful candidate will have 3–7 years’ post-qualification experience, strong drafting and analytical skills, and an ability to work autonomously within a lean, high-performing team.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years’ post-qualification experience in competition and antitrust law.
• Experience at a leading domestic or international law firm or regulator/ACCC experience.
• Strong understanding of Australian competition law, merger control and consumer law.
• Australian-qualified with strong academic credentials.
• Commercially astute with strong drafting and analytical skills.
• Ability to work autonomously within a lean, high-performing team.

Competition & Antitrust Associate/Senior Associate

MRA Search is instructed by a leading global law firm seeking an experienced competition and antitrust lawyer, at the associate or senior associate level, to join their Sydney office.

This is a genuinely rare opportunity to join one of the world's most highly regarded antitrust practices, consistently ranked as one of the largest and best antitrust groups in the world, at a critical and exciting stage of its growth in Australia and the Asia Pacific region.

The Sydney competition practice is led by a partner with over 20 years of antitrust experience who is widely regarded as a leading practitioner in Australia and the Asia Pacific region. The practice advises clients on large-scale complex mergers and joint ventures, investigations and enforcement matters, obtaining regulatory clearances, and regularly acts on global transactions requiring multi-jurisdictional merger clearances and cross-border co-ordination.

The work spans a broad range of sectors including technology, financial services, energy and resources, ports, rail, aviation, health, agriculture and food manufacturing, acting for both domestic and international clients across Australia and the Asia Pacific region.

About you:

• 3-7 years' post-qualification experience in competition and antitrust law.
