Job summary

Caring Approach is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Canberra team for a part-time role, offering flexibility while delivering high‑quality community-based care. The position supports participants in the NDIS and aged care programs with 2–3 days per week, with potential expansion based on applicant circumstances.

You will perform clinical assessments for Support at Home and NDIS, liaise with hospitals on discharge, and provide clinical oversight to our skilled support workers, guiding care

Qualifications

• Current NMBA registration and Ahpra registration in Australia.
• Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent approved qualification.
• Experience in community or nursing settings is desirable.
• Strong assessment and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication and compassionate approach to care.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Knowledge of aged care and NDIS standards and guidelines.
• Current immunisations and First Aid/CPR accreditation or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care including wound care and health monitoring.
• Assess health conditions and develop individualised care plans with teams.
• Maintain accurate health records compliant with regulations.
• Monitor vital signs and report changes to senior staff.
• Communicate with participants, families and care team for continuity.
• Contribute to infection control and safety training of staff.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and maintain clinical knowledge.
• Assist with end-of-life care with compassionate support.
• Liaise with hospital staff post-admission or discharge and synthesize summaries.
