Job summary

Mercy Health in Young, NSW is seeking a Casual Personal Care Assistant to support residents with daily personal care and mobility, under nursing guidance. A minimum Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or Individual Support is required, with NDIS clearance encouraged.

Qualifications

• Certificate III / Cert IV in Aged Care or Individual Support.
• NDIS clearance may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Help with mobility, including transferring residents from bed to chair, assisting with walking, and using mobility aids safely.
• Support residents with feeding, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration, and assisting with special dietary needs.
• Assist with medication reminders and support residents in taking prescribed medications, under the guidance of a nurse.
• Maintain a clean and safe living environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks, including making beds and cleaning rooms.
• Assist with organizing and engaging in activities that promote physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being.
• Respond to residents' requests for assistance in a timely and professional manner.
• Follow care plans as outlined by registered nurses and healthcare professionals, ensuring the highest standards of care are met.
