Job summary

Ozcare is seeking an In Home Support Worker to provide practical assistance and social support to older Australians in North Lakes and surrounding region. The role supports independence and wellbeing in clients' homes.

Applicants should have police check, first aid/CPR, a valid Queensland driver’s licence, and a reliable vehicle. The position offers part-time hours with benefits and training. First Nations peoples are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Current National Police Check (valid within the past 3 years).
• Current First Aid and CPR Certifications.
• Current 'Open' Queensland Driver Licence.
• A reliable, roadworthy vehicle with current registration and comprehensive vehicle insurance certificate.
• Adept using mobile devices and basic computer applications.
• Proof of immunity, or willingness to become vaccinated against, MMR, Whooping Cough & Chicken Pox.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical assistance and social support to clients in accordance with their care plans.
• Undertake domestic duties including cleaning, laundry and meal preparation.
• Assist with shopping, transport and community access.
• Provide social support and companionship to clients.
• Monitor and report changes in client wellbeing.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records.
• Collaborate with the care team to achieve positive client outcomes.
• Participate in training, meetings and continuous improvement.
