Job summary

Comlink Australia is seeking a dedicated Domestic Care Assistant to help older Australians live independently at home. You will visit clients, provide practical household tasks, and offer companionship, contributing to wellbeing and quality of life.

Ideal candidates show a passion for helping others, strong communication, and the ability to work autonomously. A driver’s licence and reliable vehicle are preferred for travel between visits.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with a diverse range of clients.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Patient, calm approach when supporting clients.
• Understanding of maintaining professional boundaries when assisting clients.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with general housekeeping duties as outlined in care plans.
• Provide social support and companionship to clients.
• Ensure homes remain safe, hygienic and conducive to independence.
• Recognise changes in a client's condition and communicate it appropriately.
• Build positive relationships with clients while upholding professional boundaries.
