Job summary

Silverchain in Shellharbour, NSW is seeking a Care Worker to support older Australians at home, helping with daily tasks and personal care to sustain independence and wellbeing.

The role requires 3+ months in a similar role, a valid Australian Driver's Licence with an insured vehicle, and experience in personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications. Training and career development are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 months experience in a similar professional role.
• A valid Australian Driver's Licence and your own insured, roadworthy vehicle.
• Experience in personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications.
• Ability to work independently and find solutions, with the option to ask for help when needed.

Responsibilities

• General housekeeping and making beds.
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors.
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry.
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.
• Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day.
• Assisting clients with medications.
• Assisting with mobility and therapy goals.
• Providing social and emotional support.
• Providing transport to lifestyle activities or appointments.
• Helping family carers to have a break.
