Job summary

MiCare is a not-for-profit organisation delivering aged care, home care, retirement living and migrant support services across Victoria and Queensland. The Personal Care Assistant role supports client independence in community settings, delivering services per the client care plan.

The position requires a Certificate III in Individual Support (PCA), first aid/CPR, a valid driver’s licence, and vaccination proof.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Individual Support / Aged Care (PCA) required.
• Willingness to undertake a police check.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
• Valid driver's licence with comprehensive insurance and roadworthy vehicle.
• Evidence of influenza and Covid-19 vaccinations.
• Smartphone and access to computer/device.
• Ability to travel and be flexible to client and organisational needs.
• Eye for detail and high standards of service delivery and documentation.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and take direction.
• Flexible, caring, patient attitude and professional manner.
• Ability to speak another language beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with general household tasks at home.
• Assist with personal care needs (PCA).
• Accompanied shopping and errands.
• Provide transport and community access as required.
• Engage with clients and families and other stakeholders.
• Monitor and report changes per MiCare processes.
• Maintain clear documentation and timely communication.
