Job summary

Help at Hand Support Services in Sydney NSW seeks experienced Disability Support Workers to deliver person-centred care. Your daily routine will vary as you accompany clients to activities or appointments and provide support at home with companionship.

Must have a current police check, Cert III in Disability or equivalent, WWCC, First Aid/ CPR, a valid Australian driver’s license and vehicle, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Must have own fully insured, reliable vehicle.
• Police check (within 6 months) or international check if applicable.
• Cert III in Disability or equivalent experience.
• Current Working with Children Check.
• First aid/CPR certificates (current).
• Full and clean Australian driver’s license.
• Be punctual, reliable and flexible.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Empathetic and proactive with a genuine interest in this field.
• Ability to self-supervise and stay calm during crises.
• Right to live and work in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support and adapt routines to each client.
• Assist with outings (beach, cinema, activities) and medical appointments.
• Offer companionship and supervision at home, including conversations over tea.
