Job summary
Great Mates on the Gold Coast is seeking compassionate Lifestyle Assistants to support people with disability in a complex, person-centered way. You’ll work across Supported Independent Living settings, assisting with personal care, daily routines and meaningful activities.
We welcome applicants with 12 months experience, a Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent, and a willingness to complete training.
Qualifications
- At least 12 months paid experience supporting people with disability.
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent.
- Strong communication and problem solving skills.
- Willingness to complete induction and participant-specific training.
Responsibilities
- Support people with personal care, household tasks, daily routines and community participation.
- Build respectful relationships that promote dignity, choice, privacy, safety and independence.
- Follow individual support plans, health and wellbeing plans and behaviour support plans.
- Provide higher intensity supports only within your training and competence.
- Complete accurate progress notes and incident reports in a timely manner.
- Recognise and escalate changes in wellbeing or safety concerns.
- Communicate clearly with colleagues, health professionals and support networks.
- Follow NDIS Code of Conduct and workplace health and safety requirements.
