Job summary

UnitingCare Children, Young People and Families – Bli Bli QLD is seeking a Cook to deliver a high-quality, resident-centred dining service in the Bli Bli Aged Care Facility. You will prepare and present meals that meet dietary needs, work with the Home Services Lead and Chef, and help ensure meals are enjoyable, safe and served at the correct temperature.

This casual role requires a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, food safety knowledge, IDDSI understanding, and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience.
• Food safety knowledge and safe handling practices.
• Understanding of IDDSI, allergens and dietary needs.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and follow direction.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to resident-centred care and positive dining experiences.
• Basic computer and documentation skills.
• Experience in aged care or healthcare food service preferred.
• Confidence to satisfy probity checks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve meals in line with corporate menus, recipes and dietary requirements
• Ensure all meals meet IDDSI, allergen, cultural and texture-modified needs
• Deliver meals that are well-presented, appetising and served at the correct temperature
• Support food preparation, portioning, plating and kitchen operations
• Follow safe food handling, hygiene and infection control standards
• Complete documentation including temperature checks, cleaning logs and production records
