Job summary

Airswift is seeking a Site Representative for a hybrid role in Docklands, VIC, combining office work with offshore deployments on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off roster for an oil and gas operator.

You will lead offshore execution during decommissioning, provide interface between offshore teams and vessel management, supervise on-vessel personnel, support safety and quality programs, conduct field assurance, and verify compliance with procedures and risk controls.

Qualifications

• High school qualification or equivalent.
• 10-15+ years’ experience in offshore construction, installation, decommissioning, or heavy industry operations, including vessel supervision roles.
• Proven experience in safety leadership, HSE management, critical risk management, and operational assurance.
• Strong knowledge of offshore operations, field verification, and contractor management.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, coaching, and workforce leadership skills.
• Heavy lift experience, preferably including decommissioning experience (desirable)
• Experience in high-risk offshore campaigns involving multiple contractors and interfaces (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Provide offshore leadership and company representation during marine operations and decommissioning/removal activities.
• Monitor and report daily operational progress, validating contractor activity reports and execution performance.
• Ensure compliance with approved procedures, management of change (MOC) requirements, and operational standards through field surveillance and assurance activities.
• Champion safety leadership by supporting risk assessments, emergency response preparedness, workforce engagement, and stop-work interventions when required.
• Verify the effectiveness of critical risk controls, quality requirements, and operational safeguards through inspections and field audits.
• Oversee contractor quality assurance and quality control activities, including readiness reviews, testing, documentation, and non-conformance management.
• Support incident investigations, project record management, stakeholder communication, and the sharing of safety and technical lessons learned.

About the Role

This is a hybrid role combining both office (located in Docklands VIC) and offshore work (2 weeks on; 2 weeks off roster) for an oil and gas operator throughout the project campaign duration. As the Site Representative, you’ll provide offshore leadership during offshore decommissioning, removal, and marine operations. Acting as the primary interface between offshore execution teams and vessel management, this role oversees on-vessel personnel, supports safety, quality, and incident response activities, and conducts field assurance and verification to ensure work is executed in accordance with approved procedures, operational requirements, and critical risk controls. Depending on vessel staffing and rotation arrangements, the position may perform either vessel leadership or site representative responsibilities offshore.
