Job summary

Moving Forward Recruitment Services, based in Wetherill Park NSW, seeks a hands-on Company Accountant to lead day-to-day financial management, cash flow forecasting and cost accounting for a capital equipment manufacturer.

You will manage a team of 4 (AR/AP and Payroll), partner with operations and procurement to optimise cash flow and drive system improvements. CPA or progress toward is advantageous; ERP exposure preferred.

My client is a leading local engineering and manufacturing business located in Wetherill Park. The company is an Australian manufacturer of capital equipment for both the domestic and export markets.

Right now they have an opportunity for an energetic and proactive company accountant with a background in financial accounting, cash flow management and cost accounting to join the team.

The business is a founder led SME and so experience working in a similar environment and with an entreprenurial MD would be highly regarded. Your ability to balance risk and deal with ambiguity is what will set you apart.

About the Role:

This is an important and hands on accounting role responsible for the day to day financial management of the business including cash flow management, job costing and systems development and improvement.

Duties Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Be responsible for the day to day accounting activities of the business including all monthly and quarterly reporting and lodgements.
• Cash flow management and forecasting.
• Manage a team of 4 staff covering AR/AP and Payroll.
• Actively partner with operations and procurement to maximise cash flow without jeopardising production deadlines and customer schedules.
• Develop and maintain up to date job and project costing modules.
• Work closely with the MD on adhoc projects.

The ideal candidate will have appropriate accounting qualifications and a financial and cost accounting background. CPA or working towards such a qualification would be advantageous.

Excellent collaboration and communications skills are required and you will need a certain level of resilience to be successful in this role.

Role is based from my client's modern Wetherill Park offices. The role is principally a work from the office position.

Exposure to mid-tier ERP such as Pronto, MS Dynamics or Navision would be highly desirable.
