Job summary

R6 Group in Brisbane CBD is seeking an ambitious, organised inhouse Company Accountant to join our growing digital agency and software house.

Reporting to the CFO, you’ll own end-to-end financial and management accounting, from payables to director reporting, delivering timely, accurate insights for strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
• 3+ years' accounting experience in a similar role.
• CPA or CA qualification (or working towards it) highly regarded.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence using AI tools.
• Experience with Sage Intacct and ProSpend is a bonus.
• Sharp attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly reporting for the directors (P&L, balance sheet, forecasts, and dashboards), with commentary and advice to support decision-making
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and scenario planning to help the business deliver on its goals
• Run the full month-end process, including balance sheet reconciliations and journals for accruals, prepayments and revenue recognition
• Prepare and lodge activity statements with the ATO and payroll tax returns with the Queensland Revenue Office
• Manage full-function accounts payable, including international payments
• Manage full-function accounts receivable: raising invoices, receipting payments and following up overdue accounts
• Ownership of the company's expense management system
• Assist with grant and incentive processes, including the annual Export Market Development Grant (EMDG) application and reporting, and the R&D Tax Incentive claim
• Support the CFO and executive team on ad hoc strategic financial projects

R6 Group is a rapidly growing digital and creative agency and custom software house, and we're looking for an ambitious, organised and proactive inhouse Company Accountant to join us in our Brisbane CBD office. You'll be working alongside a talented team of marketers, designers, and developers in an environment where people actually enjoy coming to work and work-life balance isn't just a line in a job ad.

The role

Reporting directly to the CFO, who has done this hands-on work themselves and can genuinely support you in it, you will play a key role across both financial and management accounting. This is a true all-rounder position. You'll have your hands on every part of the company's finances, from payables through to director reporting, and make sure the executive team has timely, accurate information to make good decisions.

What you'll do

What we’re looking for
