McArthur is seeking an experienced Community Safety Officer to support the safety, amenity and compliance of the local community in Melbourne's west. This temporary two-month assignment offers full-time hours at a casual rate of $51.24 per hour + Super.

The role requires a driver’s license and Working with Children Check, or the ability to obtain one. You will provide guidance to residents and visitors, administer compliance actions, and participate in after-hours operations as required,

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma with little or no relevant work experience, or a Certificate IV in Statutory Compliance (Government) and Animal Control and Regulation.
• Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to engage with highly emotional residents and represent Council.

Responsabilités

• Provide guidance, advice and assistance to residents regarding community compliance matters.
• Respond promptly to complaints and undertake timely investigations.
• Plan time effectively and patrol the municipality to ensure compliance with legislation.
• Accurately record and submit daily activities and maintain Council systems.
• Identify and report equipment or infrastructure needing attention for safety compliance.
• Conduct inspections and audits of animal-related facilities and premises.
• Participate in after-hours service, including on-call availability.
