Job summary

Mater Foundation on the Gold Coast is seeking a passionate Community Relationship Manager to join the team on a permanent full-time basis.

In this role, you will build meaningful relationships with clinicians, supporters, community groups, businesses and stakeholders across the Gold Coast and Northern NSW, identify fundraising opportunities and support major campaigns and events. You will help strengthen Mater Foundation's presence and deliver compassionate care to Queensland communities.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years' experience in fundraising or relationship management.
• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong organisation and project management abilities.
• Experience with community fundraising and events.

Responsibilities

• Build and nurture relationships with community fundraisers, businesses, clubs and partners across Gold Coast and Northern NSW.
• Identify and grow fundraising opportunities and oversee campaigns and events.
• Coordinate community fundraising campaigns, third-party activities and peer-to-peer events.
• Represent Mater Foundation at events and act as a passionate ambassador.
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver supporter-focused fundraising initiatives.

Community Relationship Manager - Gold Coast

About the role

Mater Foundation is seeking a passionate and relationship-driven Community Relationship Manager to join the team on a permanent full-time basis.

Following Mater's strategic acquisition of Healthscope’s Gold Coast Private Hospital, this role presents an exciting opportunity to help strengthen Mater's presence across the region and support our commitment to delivering exceptional, compassionate care to Queensland communities.

In this community-focused role, you will build meaningful relationships with clinicians, supporters, community groups, businesses and key stakeholders across the Gold Coast & Northern NSW. You will identify and grow fundraising opportunities, inspire philanthropic support, and champion initiatives that make a tangible difference for patients and families.

You’ll help deliver major campaigns and events, including the International Women's Day Fun Run, Nine Telethon supporting Mater Little Miracles and Mater Giving Day, while strengthening Mater Foundation's presence across the region.

• Build and nurture strong relationships with community fundraisers, local businesses, service clubs, hospital auxiliaries, Mater teams and community organisations
• Support community fundraisers and event participants with guidance, resources and stewardship to help them achieve their fundraising goals
• Coordinate community fundraising campaigns, third-party fundraising activities, peer-to-peer events and community initiatives
• Identify new opportunities to grow community participation, engagement and fundraising income across Gold Coast and Northern NSW
• Represent Mater Foundation at community events and activities, acting as an enthusiastic ambassador for Mater
• Work collaboratively with internal teams to deliver supporter-focused fundraising and engagement initiatives
• Maintain accurate supporter records and monitor fundraising activity, providing insights to support continuous improvement
• Identify and refer potential major donors, corporate partners and other fundraising opportunities to the relevant teams
• Support community events across Gold Coast and Northern NSW

About you

You're a confident relationship builder who genuinely enjoys connecting with people and making a difference in the community. You'll bring:

• Experience in fundraising, community development, event management, project management or a related field
• Minimum five years' experience in fundraising, relationship management, business development or stakeholder engagement, with demonstrated success in developing and delivering supporter growth and engagement strategies
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds
• Strong organisation and project management skills, including the ability to manage timelines, budgets and competing priorities
• A proactive and creative approach, with the initiative to identify new opportunities and ways of working
• Experience working with CRM databases, Microsoft Office, Excel and online fundraising platforms
• An understanding of contemporary fundraising and the not-for-profit sector, with a genuine commitment to philanthropy
• A passion for working with regional communities, ideally with an existing network across Gold Coast and Northern NSW
• The ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment

Some out-of-hours work will be required from time to time to attend fundraising events and community activities, along with some intrastate travel for training, onboarding and connection with the Brisbane-based team.
