Job summary

Fizzio Pty in Brisbane is seeking a Part-time Registered Nurse to deliver in-home nursing care for older adults. The role starts at two days per week with potential to increase to three or four days by agreement.

Pay ranges from $48 to $55 per hour plus superannuation, depending on experience and clinical capability. You will work with patients, families and a multidisciplinary team within an agreed Brisbane service area, providing supervision and escalation pathways to support safe clinical

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Nursing with current AHPRA registration.
• 2–3 years post-registration experience preferred; aged care or community nursing valued.
• Able to assess, plan and respond to changing care needs in home-based settings.

Responsibilities

• Assess nursing needs and develop care plans; respond to health changes.
• Provide wound and skin care and monitor healing.
• Support safe medication use, including injections where appropriate.
• Assist recovery after hospital discharge and educate patients/families.
• Provide continence and catheter/stoma care as trained.
• Maintain clear clinical records; coordinate with GPs and other providers.
• Recognise deterioration and escalate promptly per governance rules.

Help older people stay well and keep doing what matters to them through thoughtful nursing care in their own homes. The role starts at two days per week, with an opportunity to increase to three or four days by agreement if you wish. Pay depends on relevant experience and clinical capability.

What you will do

• Assess nursing needs, develop and review care plans, and respond to changes in health or function.

• Provide wound and skin care, monitor healing and identify concerns that need further assessment.

• Support safe medication use, including authorised administration, injections and monitoring within your scope of practice and the care plan.

• Support recovery after hospital discharge and help patients and carers understand ongoing care needs.

• Provide continence care and routine catheter or stoma care where appropriate to your training and competence.

• Keep clear, timely clinical records and coordinate with GPs, allied health clinicians and other providers.

• Recognise deterioration, escalates concerns promptly and follow clinical governance and infection-prevention requirements.

About you

• Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent and current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a registered nurse.

• Ideally around two to three years of post-registration experience; more experienced nurses are also welcome. Community nursing, aged care, rehabilitation or relevant acute-care experience is valued.

• Sound assessment skills, safe judgement and an understanding of when to seek advice or *escalate* concerns.

• A respectful, person-centred approach, clear communication, organisation and confidence using digital clinical records.

• Current First Aid and CPR, Australian working rights, a valid driver’s licence and reliable transport for community visits.

• Ability to meet the relevant screening requirements for the role.
