Description:

Help Strengthen Local Communities Through Education

Do you enjoy connecting with people, supporting your community, and helping others build a better future?

We’re looking for a passionate and community-minded Community Program Coordinator to support learners across regional and remote communities throughout South Australia.

This position is about building trusted relationships within local communities, helping people feel supported and confident to begin their education journey, and creating opportunities for individuals to build meaningful careers in early childhood education and care close to home.

You’ll become a key local connector — working alongside learners, families, trainers, local organisations, community groups, and employers to help make education more accessible, welcoming, and achievable for people living in regional areas.

As this initiative grows across communities, this role has the opportunity to become an important part of strengthening local capability, community engagement, and workforce development in places where connection and support matter most. At the heart of this role is community connection.

About the Role

This is a 12-month fixed-term, community-based role located in Kingston, requiring 11.4 hours per week, worked over 1.5 or 2 days.

Supporting learners across their full journey—from first enquiry and enrolment through to completion and graduation you’ll help coordinate face-to-face classroom programs within the local community, ensuring learners feel supported, informed, connected, and confident every step of the way.

This is a hands‑on, people-focused role where relationships matter. You’ll be the bridge between learners, trainers, local services, and community networks, helping remove barriers to education and creating opportunities for people to build meaningful careers in early childhood education and care.

Your work will contribute to stronger local capability, greater community connection, and better access to education in regional South Australia.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Build trusted, meaningful relationships with learners, families, and local community partners
  • Lead community engagement that brings people together and encourages participation in learning
  • Support learners throughout their journey, helping them feel connected, confident, and supported to succeed
  • Connect learners with local services and networks that help remove barriers to education

  • Work with Trainers and internal teams to support positive learner outcomes
  • Coordinate practical placements with local early childhood centres
  • Maintain accurate learner records and program documentation
  • Celebrate learner milestones, including graduations and community events
About You

You’re someone who feels connected to community and enjoys working with people in a meaningful, supportive way. You understand regional life—whether through lived experience, work, or strong local ties—and value helping others access opportunities close to home.

You bring strong relationships, practical know-how, and a genuine commitment to helping people succeed in education and training. If you care about strengthening regional communities and bringing people together to create opportunity, we’d love to hear from you.

Bonus Experience That Helps You Stand Out
  • Lived experience in regional or community-based environments
  • Cultural awareness and ability to engage respectfully with diverse communities
  • Experience in education, training, community services, or learner support
