Job summary

Mind Australia is seeking a dedicated Community Mental Health Practitioner to join our Toowoomba CCU on a permanent part‑time basis. The role focuses on recovery‑oriented support, helping individuals build independent living skills and resilience within a residential setting.

Rotating 7‑day roster with shifts from early morning to evening, you will work with clients, families and carers to achieve personalized goals.

Qualifications

• Experience working with people with mental health issues and complex needs.
• Ability to work with families and carers in a recovery-focused framework.
• Knowledge of trauma‑informed care and risk mitigation practices.

Responsibilities

• Support people to return to the community and live independently.
• Engage clients using brief interventions and motivational interviewing.
• Plan and deliver group programs to support recovery and skill-building.
• Support families and carers with education and referrals.
• Collaborate with community services for coordinated support.
• Contribute to daily residential operations, including housekeeping duties.
