Job summary

City of Kingston is seeking a Coordinator Community Support to lead a team across Patterson Lakes and Chelsea Community Centres. This full-time, on-site role is a temporary parental leave cover until December 2028, with salary of $100,968–$110,162 plus superannuation, dependent on experience.

You will oversee operations, venue hire, customer service, and partner with staff, volunteers and local organisations to deliver community programs and inclusive spaces, strengthening local networks.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and supporting teams in a customer-focused environment.
• Strong understanding of community development principles and the neighbourhood house sector.
• Excellent collaboration, communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience overseeing facilities, operational service delivery and budgets.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, think strategically and solve complex problems.
• Relevant qualifications and/or significant experience in community services, community development or local government.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, support and supervision to staff and volunteers.
• Lead day-to-day operations and facility management, including venue hire, facility bookings and customer service delivery.
• Deliver programs, events, volunteering initiatives and community services.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with community groups, stakeholders and local organisations.
• Create welcoming and inclusive spaces that encourage community participation and connection.
• Monitor budgets, support continuous improvement and contribute to strategic outcomes.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen services and respond to community needs.
