Job summary

Sutherland Shire Council is seeking a Financial Accountant to join the Financial Services team. You will manage financial accounting functions, asset accounting, treasury operations and taxation, working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting and governance.

The role oversees investments, loans and leases, and provides strategic advice on banking matters within a dynamic council environment. Excellent analytical skills and ethics are essential.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in accounting, commerce, or a related discipline.
• CPA or CA accreditation (or nearing completion).
• Proven experience in financial accounting, asset accounting, treasury management, and taxation.
• Experience with enterprise financial systems and engaging with external stakeholders.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
• Advanced proficiency in financial systems and analytical software.

• Package: $103,552 - $115,975 gross p.a. plus 12% superannuation. An attraction allowance may be considered for an exceptional candidate.
• Hours of work: Permanent Full Time Working 35 hours per week. You will have the option of a 19 day month with Council's ADO system (Accrued Day Off).
