Job summary

The Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley is seeking an experienced Events and Activation Officer to join the Community Development team in the East Kimberley region. You will help deliver engaging events, activations and community programs across the East Kimberley, bringing communities together and activating public spaces in line with the Shire’s priorities.

Qualifications

• At least three years’ experience in event management or a related field.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines; able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and deliver community events, activations and programs from concept to completion.
• Develop a program of local events promoting social connection and belonging.
• Coordinate external event applications including approvals, permits and licenses.
• Liaise with event organisers, community groups, businesses, suppliers and internal teams to ensure successful delivery.
• Coordinate event logistics including venues, equipment, suppliers and permits.
• Ensure events meet safety, risk management, and local government compliance requirements.
• Support project forums, community consultation and engagement activities.
• Support marketing and promotion through channels with the Communications team.
• Prepare event budgets and monitor expenditure; identify funding opportunities.
• Maintain stakeholder records and prepare reports and evaluations.
