Job summary

PCYC Queensland Mount Gravatt Youth Club is seeking a Community Development Officer to drive youth programs and nurture community involvement. You will report to the Youth Club Manager and foster belonging and growth through tailored activities.

Responsibilities include delivering engaging community programs, promoting participation, and supporting safeguarding. The role may require afternoon/evening work and a relevant qualification or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate III in youth work, community development/welfare, human services or related discipline or equivalent level of experience
• Experience in undertaking youth related activities
• Hold a light rigid driver’s licence or ability to obtain
• Hold a current First Aid and CPR certificate (or able to obtain)
• Willingness to work afternoons and evenings

Responsibilities

• Implement programs and activities that promote participation of young people and surrounding communities
• Deliver engaging community development initiatives and events
• Support safeguarding and inclusive participation in all activities

$36.24 - $49.64 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)

Your New Role

Reporting to the Youth Club Manager, you will be one of our many valuable Youth Workers/Community Development Officers (Grade 1) implementing programs and activities that promote participation of young people and surrounding communities. (Grade 2) who develop, promote, implement and evaluate community programs to engage local participants. This position cultivates positive outcomes and opportunities both personally and as a community. About You

• Minimum Certificate III in youth work, community development/welfare, human services or related discipline or equivalent level of experience in social and community sector
• Experience in undertaking youth related activities
• Hold a light rigid driver’s licence and a Restricted Drivers' Authority (or ability to obtain)
• Hold a current First Aid and CPR certificate (or able to obtain)
• Willingness to work afternoons and evenings
