The City of Greater Geelong is seeking an Authorised Officer within the Community Safety & Regulation Team. You will help implement policies and legislation related to domestic animals and livestock, investigate breaches, seize animals, and work with state agencies during emergencies.

You will manage designated Geelong areas and engage with the community to promote responsible pet ownership, while contributing to one of Victoria’s largest Animal Management Programs.

Qualifikationen

• Certificate IV Government - Statutory Compliance and/or Certificate IV Animal Control and Regulation (or equivalent).
• Willingness to undertake required checks (e.g., Working with Children’s Check).
• Ability to investigate breaches of legislation and prepare legal briefs.

Aufgaben

• Attend to and monitor customer requests/complaints with feedback to complainants.
• Conduct complex investigations related to breaches of legislation (dog attacks, nuisance, wandering animals).
• Seize and impound domestic animals and livestock.
• Coordinate with state agencies in emergencies; execute warrants and secure scenes.
• Patrol for breaches of state legislation and local dog control orders; prepare directives and infringements.
• Participate in emergency after-hours on-call roster (24/7 availability).
