Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an in-home care assistant in the Sydney area to support older clients in maintaining independence. You will assist with personal care, meal preparation, light housework, and medication reminders, while traveling between client homes in the North Shore and Northern Sydney region.

Applicants should have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle. Flexible hours and the ability to adapt to changing client needs are valued; prior aged care experience is not

Job description

• Provide essential and practical in-home care to older people to help them live independently
• Provide personal care, including assistance with showering and dressing
• Help around clients’ homes with meal preparation and light house cleaning
• Provide transportation to appointments and assist with shopping
• Assist with medication
• Travel to clients’ homes and between suburbs across the North Shore and Northern Sydney Region
• Directly improve clients’ quality of life

Requirements

• Female applicants only, as being female is recognised as a genuine occupational qualification for this role
• Ability to travel to and between clients’ homes in the North Shore/Northern Sydney area using your own car
• Valid Driver’s License
• Own insured, reliable car with minimum Third Party Property Insurance
• Flexible around meeting the changing needs of home care clients
• Compassionate, patient, reliable, solutions-focused, and able to relate to people
• Previous experience in aged or community care may be advantageous, but no experience is necessary
• All shortlisted applicants must consent to a criminal record check and reference checks
• All shortlisted applicants must attend a pre-employment functional assessment
