Job summary

CCTS, a trusted technology solutions provider on the Central Coast, is seeking a Communications & Security Technician to support day-to-day client and internal operations. This hands-on field role delivers installations, maintenance and upgrades across commercial sites.

You'll work across Cat6/Cat6A cabling, fibre, CCTV, access control and alarm systems, with a take-home company vehicle, laptop, phone and uniform provided, and support to develop skills across disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Open Cabler Registration with Structured and Fibre endorsements.
  • Security Licence required to perform access control and CCTV work.
  • Fibre termination or splicing experience is desirable.
  • Experience with brands such as Inner Range, Hikvision, Dahua, Bosch or Milestone is advantageous.
  • EWP, Working at Heights or First Aid qualifications are beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Installing and terminating Cat6 and Cat6A cabling.
  • Fibre optic cabling installation, splicing or termination (experience preferred).
  • Testing and certification of structured cabling.
  • Installing and servicing access control systems.
  • CCTV installation and fault finding.
  • Alarm installation and servicing.
  • Diagnosing and rectifying faults.
  • Reading plans and following project documentation.
  • Maintaining high quality workmanship and accurate job records.
  • Working independently and as part of a small team.

The Role

We’re looking for a reliable, diligent Communications & Security Technician to support day-to-day client and internal operations. Whether your background is in structured cabling or electronic security, we'll support you to develop your skills across both disciplines.

This is a hands on field position working across a variety of commercial and industrial sites. You'll be provided with a take home branded company vehicle, laptop, mobile phone and uniform required to perform your role.

You'll work across new installations, maintenance, fault finding and upgrades for commercial and industrial customers throughout the Central Coast, Sydney and Newcastle areas.

You must be currently based in Australia with unrestricted working rights (no sponsorship available).

Key Responsibilities

Installing and terminating Cat6 and Cat6A cabling

Fibre optic cabling installation, splicing or termination (experience preferred)

Testing and certification of structured cabling

Installing and servicing access control systems

CCTV installation and fault finding

Alarm installation and servicing

Diagnosing and rectifying faults

Reading plans and following project documentation

Maintaining high quality workmanship and accurate job records

Working independently and as part of a small team

Experience in structured cabling or electronic security

A willingness to learn and develop across both disciplines

Excellent attention to detail

Ability to work independently

White Card

Desirable Skills & Qualifications
