Job summary

Job description

This is a permanent part-time role (two days per week) in the Technical Services team, based at Moruya. The successful candidate will be responsible for communicating information about Infrastructure Services projects and services to the broader community in an accurate, timely and engaging manner.

The starting salary for this position is $44.59 per hour, plus 12% superannuation.

About you

You are a highly organised and community-focused communications professional who can tailor complex information to meet the needs of the community. You understand that good infrastructure communication helps people understand what is happening, why the work is needed, how they could be affected and what they need to know.

You are a confident writer who can adapt information for different audiences and channels, including emails, letters, websites and community engagement materials. You can identify key messages, ask the right questions and simplify technical information.

You are comfortable working closely with engineers, project managers and operational staff to gather information. You build positive relationships and communicate with empathy and professionalism.

You are adaptable and solutions-focused, with the ability to manage communications across several projects, balance competing priorities and respond to changing circumstances. You work collaboratively and independently, using sound judgement and initiative to deliver timely, accessible and customer-focused communication that builds community understanding and trust.

Screening process

As part of our recruitment process, you may be asked to provide contact details for two work-related referees. These will be collected at the interview stage. At least one referee should be your current supervisor or a recent past supervisor (of at least three months).

Depending on the position, successful applicants may also be required to complete a Criminal History Check, Medical Assessment and/or a Working with Children Check.
