Job summary

Northern Beaches Council is seeking a Communications Officer to join the Community Engagement & Communications team in Sydney. The role is permanent full-time (35 hours per week, with an option for a 9-day fortnight) and includes a salary range with super.

The successful candidate will plan, write and manage communications across channels, build strong stakeholder relationships, and support campaigns and video/content production. It’s a dynamic role offering growth and a strong community impact.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in communications, PR or marketing.
• Excellent writing, editing and storytelling across channels.
• Experience with email marketing platforms.
• Experience using CMS and analytics tools.
• Attention to detail and high-quality output.
• Ability to manage stakeholders and coordinate work.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and evaluate marketing and communications campaigns.
• Produce high-quality content across paid, earned and owned channels.
• Write and edit content for news, websites, social media and emails.
• Coordinate content approvals, schedules and data updates.
• Design and accelerate email campaigns with analytics.
• Build positive stakeholder relationships.
• Support video content production and photography coordination.
• Monitor campaign performance and report insights.
