Hudson is partnering with a Federal Government agency in Canberra to recruit a Communications Officer (APS6). The role focuses on delivering strategic, corporate and industry-focused communications and content development in a government context.

The position spans two key communications teams and involves creating, editing and publishing content for websites, newsletters, EDMs, social media and internal channels, with an emphasis on clear, accessible messaging for diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in a communications, public relations, journalism or marketing role.

The Opportunity
Working across two key communications teams, you will play an important role in developing and delivering communication strategies that support organisational priorities, strengthen stakeholder engagement and promote awareness of important industry initiatives.

This is a varied, hands-on position combining strategic communications, content development, stakeholder engagement and digital publishing.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic communication plans, campaigns and engagement initiatives.
• Create, edit and publish high-quality content across websites, newsletters, EDMs, social media and internal communication channels.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Demonstrated experience in a communications, public relations, journalism or marketing role, ideally within government or a complex organisation.
• Proven ability to develop, implement and evaluate communication strategies and campaigns.
• Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills, with the ability to simplify complex information.
• Experience producing engaging content across multiple digital and traditional communication channels.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and confidence providing strategic communications advice.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent professional experience.
