Job summary

HealthWISE is seeking a Communications Manager to lead our communications team and strategy, strengthening stakeholder connections and visibility for our growing organisation. You will drive strategic planning, brand management and digital communications across rural NSW communities.

You will mentor the team, coordinate cross-functional initiatives and ensure messaging aligns with HealthWISE priorities and community needs.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations or marketing, or substantial equivalent experience.
• Experience developing, implementing and evaluating communication strategies.
• Experience leading a team and working with multiple stakeholders.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to translate complex programs into clear messaging.

HealthWISE is seeking a Communications Manager to lead our communications team and strategy, while strengthening stakeholder connections and visibility for our growing organisation.

About the role

The Communications Manager is HealthWISE's communication strategist and connector, responsible for ensuring our services, partnerships, achievements and priorities are communicated effectively to the communities and stakeholders we serve.

Working across the organisation, you will develop a strong understanding of HealthWISE's services, strategic priorities and community needs, providing expert communication advice and support to help teams translate their work into meaningful messages and outcomes.

You will lead the development and implementation of communication and engagement strategies that strengthen HealthWISE's visibility, reputation and community connections. By identifying the right audiences, messages and channels, you will help ensure our work is understood, valued and accessible across the communities we support.

As the leader of the Communications Team, you will champion a coordinated, consistent and culturally responsive approach to communication, supporting effective engagement with clients, communities, partners, funders and other key stakeholders.

About you

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related discipline, or substantial equivalent experience in a communications role.
• Experience developing, implementing and evaluating communication strategies
• Work collaboratively with multiple teams and stakeholders
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated experience leading, supporting and developing a team
• Current unrestricted and unencumbered Australian driver's license
• Proficiency in using Microsoft 365 applications and relevant digital tools
• Knowledge of rural, regional and remote health issues.
• Experience supporting advocacy activities.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud
• Experience overseeing website/ digital transformation projects.
