Core Talent is seeking an experienced Data Centre Technician to join our expanding Melbourne team. You will deliver structured cabling and fibre installations across major data centre projects, from installation through testing and commissioning.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in data/structured cabling, CAT6A expertise, and ACMA registration; complementary Fibre splicing and Fluke testing skills are highly valued. White Card and Telecommunications certs preferred.

Formación

• 4+ years' experience in data, communications or structured cabling.
• ACMA Open Cabling Registration – essential.
• Strong CAT6/CAT6A experience with fibre installation and testing.
• Ribbon splicing and fibre management experience is preferred.
• Fluke testing experience and reading project drawings/plans.
• Telecommunication Certificate III or higher and White Card present.

Responsabilidades

• Install and terminate CAT6A structured cabling and fibre optic runs.
• Perform fibre termination, testing and commissioning on site.
• Read and work from project drawings, plans and specifications.
• Work with Project Managers, Supervisors and other trades.
• Maintain safety, quality and site presentation standards.

We're looking for skilled technicians with a strong background in structured cabling and fibre to join an expanding team delivering high-quality infrastructure for some of Australia's leading organisations.

The Opportunity

You will work across major data centre projects, delivering structured cabling and fibre installations from initial installation through to testing and commissioning.

You will be involved in:

• Installation and termination of CAT6A structured cabling
• Fibre optic installation, termination and splicing
• Ribbon splicing and fibre management
• Fluke testing and certification
• Installing cabling through ceilings, risers, overhead spaces and underfloor environments
• Rack, cabinet and patch panel installation
• Cable dressing, labelling and management
• Fault finding and troubleshooting
• Reading and working from project drawings, plans and specifications
• Working closely with Project Managers, Supervisors and other trades
• Communicating directly with clients and site stakeholders
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship and site presentation
• Working within strict safety, quality and HSEQ requirements
• Delivering projects safely and within agreed timeframes

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for experienced Data Centre Technicians / Data Cabling Technicians who enjoy working on large-scale, high-specification projects.
You'll ideally have:

• 4+ years' experience in data, communications or structured cabling
• Current ACMA Open Cabling Registration – essential
• Strong experience with CAT6/CAT6A
• Fibre optic installation, termination and testing experience
• Experience with splicing and ribbon splicing
• Strong Fluke testing experience
• Data centre experience – highly regarded
• Experience with racks, cabinets and patch panels
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
• Telecommunication Certificate III or higher
• Current Construction White Card
• Vendor endorsements – advantageous
• Electrical A-Grade licence/qualification – highly regarded
• Strong understanding of cabling standards and installation practices
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• The ability to work independently and as part of a project team
