Job summary

Alchemy Recruitment Consulting is seeking an experienced Communications Technician to join a large mining operation in Central Queensland. The role initially operates on a day-shift roster, supporting site communications, wireless networks and fleet management technology across a large mobile equipment fleet, with possible day/night coverage later.

You’ll maintain and support a range of operational technology, including radio communications systems, Motorola/P25, LTE, and fleet management tools,

Qualifications

• Mining or heavy industrial communications experience.
• Radio, wireless or telecommunications background.
• Exposure to Motorola, P25, Cisco, LTE or similar systems.
• Fleet management / Modular experience highly regarded.
• Strong fault-finding skills and quality workmanship.
• Willingness to learn new systems and technologies.
• Flexibility to work days/nights if required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support radio communications systems across site.
• Support Motorola, P25, Cisco and LTE systems and related tech.
• Oversee fleet management systems including Modular.
• Manage wireless equipment across the mobile mining fleet.
• Carry out fault finding, inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Assist with upgrades and installation work.

We’re looking for an experienced Communications Technician to join a large mining operation in Central Queensland.

The role will initially operate on a day-shift roster, supporting site communications, wireless networks and fleet management technology across a large mobile equipment fleet. There may be a requirement to move onto day/night coverage in the future, so flexibility is preferred.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for maintaining and supporting a range of operational technology across site, including:

• Radio communications systems
• Motorola / P25 systems
• LTE communications
• Fleet management systems including Modular
• Wireless equipment across mobile mining fleet
• Terrain and associated mining technology
• Fault finding, inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance
• Supporting upgrades and installation work

You don’t need experience across every system. We’re looking for someone with a strong communications or wireless background who is willing to learn, take ownership and broaden their technical capability.

About You

Ideally, you’ll bring:
