Job summary

Norton Rose Fulbright Australia is seeking a Commonwealth Government Practice Coordinator to join the Commonwealth Government practice in Canberra on a full-time, permanent basis.

You will work with Partners, lawyers and Business Services, coordinating reporting, panel administration, security clearance processes and a range of practice support activities while also providing broader paralegal assistance to the team.

Qualifications

  • Australian citizenship or eligibility to obtain Australian Government security clearance
  • Experience in a legal support, practice support, coordination, administration or paralegal role within a law firm or government
  • Experience working with government clients, panel arrangements or reporting requirements will be highly regarded
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of an organisation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft professional correspondence and documentation
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Proactive, collaborative approach and commitment to delivering excellent client service
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day operational and administrative requirements of the Commonwealth Government practice, including panel management, reporting and stakeholder coordination
  • Coordinate Australian Government security clearance processes, working with employees, government agencies and internal stakeholders
  • Coordinate Commonwealth Government reporting obligations, ensuring timely submission per client and panel requirements
  • Act as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding panel arrangements, matter administration and client needs
  • Draft and prepare correspondence, reports, legal documents and other practice-related materials
  • Conduct legal research and assist with briefs, schedules and summaries
  • Maintain reporting data, practice resources and information repositories
  • Support process improvement and contribute to developing efficient reporting and administrative processes

The role

We are looking for a Commonwealth Government PracticeCoordinator to join our CommonwealthGovernment practice, based inCanberra, on a full-time, permanentbasis.

This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in one of thefirm's flagship practice areas, supporting the operationalrequirements of the practice and helping to drive the deliveryof high-quality service to Commonwealth Government clients.

Working closely with Partners, lawyers, Business Services teamsand government stakeholders, you will coordinate reporting,panel administration, security clearance processes and a rangeof practice support activities, while also providing broaderparalegal support across the team.

This is a varied and hands-on role suited to a highly organisedprofessional who enjoys building strong relationships, managingcompeting priorities and contributing to the ongoing success ofa busy legal practice.

Requirements
