Job summary

Atlas Professionals is seeking an experienced Commissioning Technician - Power in Sydney. This hands-on role covers end-to-end commissioning of UPS and STS systems across major data centre and critical infrastructure projects.

You will own commissioning activities from testing to handover, ensuring systems operate safely and reliably. The ideal candidate has electrical trade qualifications, NSW licence, and data centre experience, with willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Electrical Trade Qualification and unrestricted NSW Electrical Licence (mandatory).
• Experience in the critical power industry, ideally commissioning or servicing UPS and STS systems.
• Strong electrical fault‑finding, testing and commissioning capabilities.
• Sound understanding of electrical controls, networking and communication systems.
• Experience working within data centres, telecommunications or mission‑critical infrastructure.
• Current driver's licence and willingness to travel as required.
• Formal electronics qualification highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute L2, L3 and L4 commissioning activities across UPS and STS systems.
• Carry out electrical testing, system verification, fault diagnosis and commissioning through to handover.
• Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, control and communication system issues during commissioning.
• Monitor commissioning progress, identify technical issues and communicate updates to project stakeholders.
• Complete accurate commissioning reports, service documentation and digital timesheets.
• Travel to project sites as required, including overnight or extended stays.
