Job summary

Secom Technical Services in SA is seeking a motivated Commissioning Technician to lead testing, configuration and delivery of advanced electronic security systems across Defence, government and commercial projects.

You will act as a senior technical escalation point, ensure compliance and standards, and work with project teams to resolve issues, mentor technicians and contribute to successful project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Australian Citizenship is required or NV1 security clearance eligibility.
• SA Security Licence (or ability to obtain) required.
• 5+ years' experience commissioning electronic security systems.
• Strong knowledge of CCTV, access control, intrusion alarms and integrated platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead testing, configuration and delivery of security systems across Defence, government and commercial projects.
• Act as a senior escalation point for complex commissioning issues.
• Ensure commissioning meets operational, client and compliance standards.
• Support project teams with technical expertise and problem solving.

As the Commissioning Technician, you'll lead the testing, configuration, integration, and delivery of advanced electronic security systems across Defence, Government, and commercial projects. Acting as a senior technical escalation point, you'll ensure systems are commissioned to the highest operational, client, and compliance standards while supporting project teams with technical expertise and problem-solving throughout the delivery process.

What You'll Bring:

• Must be an Australian Citizen (NV1 Security Clearance eligibility required - Secom will support this)
• SA Security Licence (or ability to obtain)
• 5+ years' experience commissioning electronic security systems
• Strong knowledge of CCTV, access control, intrusion alarms, and integrated platforms
• Experience with Gallagher, Genetec, Milestone, Inner Range, Lenel, Honeywell, Bosch, Avigilon, or similar
• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
• Understanding of IP networking and integrated system environments
• Driver's Licence and White Card
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Relevant qualifications in electronics, security, IT/networking, or related fields

Nice to Have:

• Vendor certifications across major security platforms
• Experience in Defence, government, or high-security environments
• (FAT) Factory acceptance testing and integrated systems experience
• ICT networking skills
• Experience mentoring technicians or leading commissioning activities on major projects
