Job summary

CDC Data Centres, Australia’s leading operator of sovereign, secure data centre facilities, seeks a Commissioning Manager to oversee commissioning programs and governance across multiple projects. You will coordinate with customers, contractors, independent commissioning agents and consultants to ensure project readiness and compliance.

  • Demonstrable successful record on similar scale projects.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to quickly recognise issues or foresee and navigate risk early.
  • Sound knowledge of stakeholder requirements and ability to communicate via construction platforms such as ACONEX, PROCORE and BIM.

  • Work within and champion the CDC governance framework, supporting commissioning activities across data centre projects.
  • Work with the Development team to develop and implement project-specific commissioning plans and programs.
  • Provide commissioning expertise and oversight on defined projects from design review and factory acceptance to project completion, handover, and operational readiness.
  • Contribute to the development, maintenance and improvement of commissioning standards, documentation and processes.
  • Collaborate with CDC stakeholders for areas of improvement in the commissioning deliverables.
  • Maintain awareness of industry standards regarding commissioning strategies for potential incorporation into CDC practices.
  • Engage with stakeholders to ensure the commissioning plan meets their needs and requirements.
  • Ensure CDC’s commissioning testing standards are maintained throughout the process.
  • Arrange vendor training for CDC personnel required to operate facilities.
  • Collaborate with Construction Manager, Facilities and Operations teams on handover and acceptance of completed projects.

About the role:

We are looking for a Commissioning Manager to effectively manage the commissioning process and collaborate with stakeholders to implement and manage our ongoing commissioning programs. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting commissioning activities and ensuring each project adheres to our governance framework. This role will liaise with multi-disciplinary construction/commissioning teams including but not limited to customers, general contractors, independent commissioning agents and consultants.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Work within and champion the CDC governance framework, supporting commissioning activities across data centre projects.
  • Work with the Development team to develop and implement project-specific commissioning plans and programs
  • Provide commissioning expertise and oversight on defined projects from design review and factory acceptance to project completion , handover, and operational readiness.
  • Contribute to the development, maintenance and improve commissioning standards, documentation and processes.
  • Collaboration with CDC stakeholders for areas of improvement in the deliverables of the commissioning processes.
  • Maintaining awareness of industry standards regarding commissioning strategies for potential incorporation into CDC practices .
  • Engaging with Stakeholders to ensure the commissioning plan meets their needs and they are aware of any requirements the plan places on them
  • Ensuring CDC’s commissioning testing standards are maintained throughout the commissioning process.
  • Arranging vendor training for CDC personnel required to operate CDC facilities.
  • Collaborating with the Construction Manager, CDC’s Facilities and Operations teams and other relevant parties regarding the Handover and Acceptance of completed projects.

About You:

  • Minimum 5 years experience as a commissioning manager
  • Demonstrable successful record on ‘similar’ scale projects
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to quickly recognise issues or foresee and navigate risk early
  • Sound knowledge of key stakeholder requirements and the ability to communicate through the following construction channels, ACONEX, PROCORE and BIM model
  • Australian citizen with the ability to obtain, an NV1 Security Clearance
