MACq01 invites a Casual Commis Chef to join Old Wharf Restaurant on Hobart's waterfront, delivering contemporary Tasmanian cuisine with the culinary team. You will work across kitchen sections, focusing on quality produce, precise preparation, and timely service in a premium dining setting.

Ideal candidates have experience in fast-paced kitchens, a passion for exceptional food, and a willingness to contribute to a high-performing team within Tasmania's leading hospitality group.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced commercial kitchen, ideally within a hotel, restaurant or premium hospitality venue.
• Knowledge of quality produce, food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
• Passion for creating exceptional food and memorable dining experiences for guests.
• Ability to work across a range of kitchen sections during busy service periods.
• Collaborative approach to a high-performing kitchen team.
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher.
• Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene and WHS requirements.
• Full Australian working rights and availability for weekends/evenings/public holidays.

What you will bring to the role:

• Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced commercial kitchen, ideally within a hotel, restaurant or premium hospitality venue
• Strong knowledge of quality produce, food preparation techniques and kitchen operations
• A passion for creating exceptional food and memorable dining experiences for guests
• Ability to work confidently across a range of kitchen sections while maintaining high standards during busy service periods
• A collaborative approach and the ability to contribute positively to a high-performing kitchen team
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher
• Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene and WHS requirements
• Full Australian working rights and availability to work across a rotating roster, including weekends, evenings and public holidays
