Job summary

BMD Group is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join its project leadership team for a major transport infrastructure upgrade in Western Sydney. You will be on-site full-time, overseeing commercial governance, cost control and forecasting with the Project Director, construction teams and stakeholders.

Your leadership will drive profitability and ensure contractual compliance across the project lifecycle.

About The Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Commercial Manager to join BMD's project leadership team on a major transport infrastructure upgrade in Western Sydney. Based full-time on site, you will play a pivotal role in driving the commercial success of this landmark project, partnering closely with the Project Director, construction teams, clients and key stakeholders throughout delivery. As the commercial lead, you will have end-to-end responsibility for commercial governance, contract administration, risk management, cost control, forecasting and stakeholder engagement across a complex and high-profile transport project.

About You

You are a commercially driven leader with extensive experience delivering successful outcomes on complex civil construction or major infrastructure projects.

• Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Business, Law, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in Commercial Management within major infrastructure, transport, water or civil construction environments.
• Strong expertise in contract administration, project finance, commercial governance and risk management.
• Sound knowledge of major construction contracts, procurement models and project delivery frameworks.
• Experience working across the full project lifecycle, from tender development through to project completion.
• Proven ability to manage claims, variations, negotiations and stakeholder relationships.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence decision-making and drive positive project outcomes.
• Exceptional leadership, communication and relationship-building skills.
