Job summary

Watson Law in Camden, NSW is seeking a commercial solicitor with at least 1 year of post-admission experience to join the team, handling both advisory and litigation matters.

You will take real responsibility for your own files, work closely with senior lawyers, and benefit from mentoring as you develop your career in commercial law within a supportive, office-based environment.

Excellent drafting, client communication and deadlines are essential.

Qualifications

• Admitted as a lawyer in NSW and eligible for practising certificate.
• At least 1 year of post-admission experience (PAE) in commercial or litigation matters.
• Strong drafting skills and close attention to detail.
• Able to manage a busy file load and meet deadlines.
• Clear, professional communication with clients, colleagues and opposing counsel.
• Practical, commercial approach to solving problems.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements including supply, services, distribution, confidentiality and shareholder agreements.
• Advise clients on contractual rights, obligations and risk.
• Run commercial disputes from first letter through to resolution, including mediation and proceedings in NSW courts.
• Debt recovery and enforcement.
• Prepare correspondence, court documents, affidavits and briefs to counsel.
• Manage client relationships and keep clients informed of progress.

Are you a solicitor with at least a year of experience, ready to build your career in commercial law? Watson Law is looking for a capable, motivated commercial solicitor to join our Camden team, working on both transactional and dispute matters.

You will have real responsibility for your own files as well as work directly with senior lawyers who are invested in your development.

About the role

You will handle a varied mix of commercial advisory and litigation work for business clients, including:
