Benchmark Plaster Group (QLD) is seeking an experienced trade foreman to lead commercial plaster and carpentry work. The role involves supervising and project-managing multi-residential projects in the Gold Coast and Brisbane regions, with a strong emphasis on plan interpretation, procurement, and team leadership.

Ideal candidates will have trade qualifications and a track record of managing large teams across multiple trades on major commercial sites.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in plastering or carpentry.
• Experience supervising multiple trades on large sites.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specs.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and project specs.
• Proficient in site documentation and reporting.
• Ability to develop and modify construction programs.
• Proven team leadership across trades.
• High level computer skills for reporting and scheduling.
• Experience in materials procurement and logistics.
• Effective onsite problem solving under company guidelines.
• Attention to detail on large commercial projects.

Responsibilities

• Report to QLD Construction Manager and submit monthly claims reports.
• Direct a large onsite trades team across plastering and carpentry.
• Control supply ordering and delivery to site.
• Supervise installations to code and project specs.
• Set out or survey installations for compliance.
• Maintain site cleanliness at all times.
• Liaise with site managers and stakeholders.
• Identify issues with staff or materials and report to State Manager.
• Maintain professional presentation and communication.
• Work up to 55 hours per week over a 5.5 day week.
• Remuneration based on real world experience.

Job description

Experienced trade foreman is required for commercial plaster and carpentry company.

The ideal candidate is a trade qualified carpenter, drywall plasterer or ceiling and partition contractor looking to advance in their career to supervise and project manage multi residential construction projects in the commercial sector in Gold Coast and Brisbane regions. We have a strong 20 + year background in NSW delivering large scale projects and we have now have expanded fulltime into the Queensland building market.

The position requires, but not limited to, the following minimum attributes:

• 1. Detailed knowledge and experience of the plastering and carpentry trades
• 2. Advanced skills with interpreting construction plans and specifications
• 3. Detailed knowledge of all trade products and installation requirements
• 4. Ability to survey or set out from architectural plans
• 5. Possess high level document keeping and management skills
• 6. Produce and modify a construction program
• 7. Can demonstrate team management skills for a large team across multiple trades
• 8. Demonstrate a high level of computer skills
• 9. Experience as a material procurement manager
• 10. Can problem solve onsite to achieve an outcome within company guidelines
• 11. Displays a high level of detail in daily performance working on large commercial sites

The role requirements.

• 1. Report to the QLD Construction Manager and submitting monthly reports for claims etc
