Merton Lawyers in Melbourne is seeking a junior to mid-level commercial litigation lawyer with 2–5 years post-admission experience to work closely with a renowned firm partner and experienced practitioners.

You will take ownership of diverse matters, conduct legal research, draft pleadings and affidavits, and assist with hearings and mediations while receiving guidance in a small, focused team environment.

Qualifications

• Approximately 2–5 years' post-admission experience in commercial litigation.
• Admission to practice in Australia, with no current supervision requirement.
• Can-do attitude and common sense.
• Able to work autonomously but also enjoys collaboration.

Responsabilités

• Conducting legal research and analysis.
• Drafting pleadings, affidavits, correspondence, submissions, and other legal documents.
• Assisting with court and tribunal matters, including preparation for hearings and mediations.
• Reviewing and analysing evidence and documents.
• Liaising with clients, barristers, courts, and other parties.
• Assisting senior lawyers with case preparation and strategy.
• Attending client conferences, mediations and court hearings as required.

This is an opportunity to work closely with an ex-large national firm partner and experienced practitioners on a broad range of commercial disputes. You will have genuine exposure to all stages of the litigation process and the opportunity to develop your skills in a small, focused team environment. While always provided with appropriate guidance and support, you will take responsibility for your own work while collaborating closely with senior lawyers on more complex matters.
