Job summary

JM Consulting in Sydney is seeking a commercial litigation lawyer to join a well-regarded mid-tier firm. You will work on a broad range of disputes with experienced senior lawyers.

The role is open to lawyers with 3–5 years PQE in commercial litigation or dispute resolution, with strong drafting, research, and client-facing skills, and experience with pleadings and court processes. You will manage matters and deadlines under supervision and contribute to litigation strategy.

The Opportunity

The team advises on a broad range of commercial disputes, which may include:

• Corporate and shareholder disputes
• Director-related disputes
• Insolvency and restructuring disputes
• Recovery and enforcement proceedings
• Urgent and interlocutory applications
• Court proceedings, mediations and negotiated settlements

You will be involved across the lifecycle of matters, including preparing pleadings and evidence, drafting submissions and correspondence, briefing counsel, managing discovery, liaising with clients and contributing to litigation strategy.

About You

You will ideally have:

• Approximately 3-5 years' PQE in commercial litigation or dispute resolution
• Experience working on commercial litigation matters in private practice
• Strong drafting, research and analytical skills
• Experience with pleadings, evidence and court processes
• The ability to manage matters and competing deadlines with appropriate supervision
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
