Job summary

Sharp & Carter is seeking a Commercial Finance Manager to partner with site leaders in regional Victoria, driving cost, productivity and profitability improvements while supporting CAPEX programs. You will lead month-end, manage standard costing and inventory, and deliver actionable insights to optimise asset utilisation and pricing across manufacturing operations.

The role requires CA/CPA qualifications and a proven ability to influence operational leaders within manufacturing or FMCG

Qualifications

• CA/CPA qualified accounting professional.
• Background in commercial/operational finance within manufacturing or FMCG.
• Understanding of standard costing and inventory management.
• Ability to partner with and influence operational leaders.

Responsibilities

• Partner with site and operational leaders to drive cost, productivity and efficiency outcomes.
• Analyse manufacturing performance, including cost per unit, yield, waste and labour recovery.
• Lead site month end, delivering accurate P&L and balance sheet reporting with clear commentary.
• Own variance analysis, standard costing and inventory reporting.
• Identify and quantify cost-saving and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Provide insight into product profitability, asset utilisation and pricing.
• Support budgeting and forecasting, testing operational assumptions and drivers.
• Support CAPEX business case evaluation and track spend against budget.
• Ensure strong financial controls, governance and compliance standards.

This opportunity is with a well-established Australian agribusiness with a significant manufacturing operation in regional Victoria. The business is about to embark on a major capital investment program, offering genuine scope for impact during an important period of growth.

The Role

The Commercial Finance Manager plays a key role in driving site and manufacturing performance. Partnering closely with the Site Manager and operational leaders, you will translate financial analysis into practical improvements in cost, efficiency and profitability, while also supporting the upcoming CAPEX program.

Key Responsibilities

About You

• Exposure to CAPEX evaluation or project finance highly regarded.
